Accessible bathrooms

Walk-in showers and accessible bathrooms in Widnes

Widnes families often contact us when a parent is finding the stairs and bath harder, and they want to plan ahead.

We'll talk through a walk-in shower, comfort-height toilet and rails, and explain how a Disabled Facilities Grant works through Halton Borough Council.

Questions from Widnes

Can you replace my bath with a walk-in shower?

This is something we can look at during a free design visit. We'll measure up and show you what would fit in your bathroom.

Can I get help paying for an accessible bathroom?

Some people can get a Disabled Facilities Grant from their local council. Eligibility is decided by the council, not by us. See our plain-English guide to how it works.

Can I enquire on behalf of my mum or dad?

Yes. Many enquiries come from sons, daughters and carers. Just tick “I'm enquiring for someone else” on the enquiry form.

I'm hard of hearing — do I have to phone?

No. You can enquire in writing and choose “Text me back”, so you never need to take a phone call.
